This website started from a very simple place: I brought home a Calathea, fell in love with its patterned leaves, and then quickly realized how tricky these plants can be to care for. Like many first-time owners, I overwatered, underwatered, and watched more than a few leaves turn yellow and crispy. Every mistake became a lesson, and slowly I built up the knowledge (and confidence!) to keep Calatheas thriving.
